This is my Silver Fox Award winning screenplay, Our Father.
Our Father is the story of Casper Vigil, a 23 year old college graduate and former Maine state snowboarding champion. Casper is struck by tragedy early on in the film; returning home from his graduation to find his home in flames and his father shot dead in the kitchen. Left with only his grandmother, Eileen and a few good friends to care for, Casper takes off to Bangor for a few months before returning for a fateful Winter in Portage Lake. The town Casper once loved is completely in the hands of a ruthless gangster, Sharky Hudson and his son Ryan. Casper falls both into love (with old friend, Alicia) and into violent madness, taking to the slopes and the town with his sharpened-blade snowboard searching for answers to questions from both his troubled youth and the murder of his father. Through his interactions with Eileen, Sharky, Ryan, Alicia, and other townspeople, Casper slowly uncovers a horrifying secret that may hold with it his family's salvation and vindication.
The film deals with morality, religion, family, and love.
